San-ei Air balancer

SAN-EI Air Balancer

Pneumatic Load Balancer System

The SAN-EI Air Balancer, branded as “MY HAND”, is a pneumatic lifting and balancing device powered by compressed air. It is designed to allow operators to lift, lower, and move heavy loads smoothly with minimal effort, effectively acting as a “right hand” for material handling operations.

Unlike conventional lifting equipment, the air balancer automatically adjusts the lifting force according to the weight of the load, enabling safe and precise handling of heavy objects in industrial environments.

1 Main Features

Labor-Saving Operation

The air balancer allows heavy objects to be moved easily using only one hand, greatly reducing operator fatigue and improving working efficiency.

Automatic Load Detection

A built-in load detection system senses the weight of the workpiece and automatically adjusts the air pressure to balance the load.

Simple Weight Measurement

A simple scale integrated into the balancer enables operators to estimate the approximate weight of the object being lifted.

All-Air Powered System

All operations are driven purely by compressed air, eliminating electrical sparks and making the equipment safe for explosive or hazardous environments.

Simple and Lightweight Design

The mechanical structure is simple and compact, resulting in a lightweight system that is easy to install and maintain.

2 Working Principle

The air balancer operates based on a pneumatic balancing mechanism.

Operating process

  1. A workpiece is attached to the hook of the balancer.

  2. When the operator lifts the object, a load detector senses the weight.

  3. The detector sends a pressure signal corresponding to the load weight.

  4. The air cylinder generates an upward pulling force equal to the weight of the load.

  5. The load becomes balanced, allowing the operator to move it freely in vertical or horizontal directions.

Because the lifting force continuously adjusts to the load weight, the object can be manipulated smoothly and safely.

3 Operating Conditions

Typical operating parameters include:

Air supply pressure:
0.3 – 0.6 MPa

Installation location:
Indoor use recommended

Installation time:
Most air balancer systems can be installed within one day, depending on the configuration.

4 Typical Models

SAN-EI provides different air balancer models depending on the required load capacity.

Example Models

BTA80A-S
BTA120A-W
BTA Series (various capacities)

These models vary in:

  • maximum suspension load

  • lifting stroke

  • air consumption

  • mounting configuration.

The exact specifications depend on the model and application.

5 System Components

A SAN-EI air balancer system usually includes:

  • Pneumatic cylinder

  • Load detector

  • Control valve

  • Hook or suspension device

  • Air supply line

  • Mounting structure

These components work together to provide precise load balancing and lifting.

6 Industrial Applications

SAN-EI air balancers are widely used in industries where heavy parts must be handled frequently and safely.

Manufacturing Plants

  • assembly lines

  • machine component handling

Automotive Industry

  • engine assembly

  • heavy part installation

Steel and Metal Processing

  • component transfer

  • tooling handling

Logistics and Warehousing

  • loading and unloading operations

Hazardous Industrial Areas

Because the system uses compressed air rather than electricity, it is suitable for explosive environments such as chemical plants or oil facilities.

7 Advantages Compared with Conventional Lifting Devices

Air balancers provide several advantages over traditional lifting systems:

  • easy one-hand operation

  • precise load control

  • improved workplace safety

  • reduced worker fatigue

  • explosion-proof operation

  • simple maintenance

These advantages make air balancers ideal for continuous industrial material handling operations.
